VENGAYA BAJJI OR ONION FRITTER
Onion contain extraoridinarily powerful componds that posses many health benefits.an essential kitchen vegetable,onion are arguably the world’s most widely used ingredient.onion are a very good source of vitamin c,b6 ,biotin,chromium,calcium and dietary fibre.bajji is made in varieties as a traditional treat for festivals such as diwali.onion bajji is great taste.
INGREDIENTS FOR ONION BAJJI
Oil for frying,
gram flour-1cup,
rice flour-1/2cup
chilli pow-1and1/2,
turmeric-1/2tsp
garlic-3
asafoetida-2tsp
cooking soda-1pinch,
salt
onion-1
FOR PREPARATION FOR BAJJI BATTER
1.Peel the skin of the onion.
2.Slice the oion into thin round shape.
3.In a mixie add the garlic,chilli powder,turmeric powder,enough salt,add little water and grind like fine paste.
4.In a mixing bowl,add gram flour,rice flour,add grind paste,asafoetida,pinch cooking soda and mix well.
5.Add little by little water and make a thick paste[ like idly batter].keep aside.
METHOD
1. Heat oil in a kadai for deep frying.
2.Dip onion slice in batter.
3.Drop it in the hot oil and cook it on medium flame.
4.Remove the bajji from kadai and drain on kichen paper.
5.Now onion bajji is ready to serve with coconut chutney.
